1K a Day Challenge – Week Forty Four

It’s November 8th, 2015. Week forty four of writing 1,000 words per day of fiction. It’s time for another update!

Days 305 through 311 have been successes, with a minimum of 1,000 words per day written.

Stats for Days 305 to 311:

Day 305 – 1033 words
Day 306 – 1049 words
Day 307 – 1129 words
Day 308 – 1156 words
Day 309 – 1151 words
Day 310 – 1063 words
Day 311 – 1273 words

Total count for the year thus far is 388,748 words. Average daily word count is 1,250 words. WIP Savage Duty is at 41,433 words. Based on 120,000 words estimated for expected completion, it is 34% complete.

Another week down and the time for the really difficult days is quickly approaching. November and December are the two hardest months of the year to get anything productive done, in large part due to holiday shopping and holiday events. There’s traveling to do, family and friends to see and spend time with, presents to wrap, games to prepare, food to cook, food to eat, more food to eat!

Lots of stuff going on that generally takes precedence over your creative passions. I managed the other holidays so far this year, so I’m thinking I won’t have too much trouble with Thanksgiving and Christmas. Christmas Day may be rough, because it’s such a day of rest. New Year’s Eve is perhaps the scariest of all. The last day. The pressure will be on and I have no idea what I’m going to do on that day. Just a thousand? None at all as the ultimate troll? 10,000 just to blow the fucking doors off the year?

I kind of want to do all of them, but naturally I can’t.

And we still have eight weeks to get to that.

Stick around, readers and writers! The final days are bound to be tense.
